The Lipizzaner in NZ is currently a fairly unobtainable breed. There are very few pure horses remaining and the likelihood of one coming up for sale is slim. For the die hard Lipizzaner fan, there are people keen to breed them up in New Zealand. More horses need to be imported for this to be a realistic endeavour as well as networking and working with the Australian breeders who hold a decent level of stock.
Due to their tightly controlled blood lines, great care is needed to ensure genetic diversity is maintained within the 7 stallion lines. Please contact us if you are interested as we can put you in touch with the right people.
